Exploring Digital Participation with Children in India

Project description

Urban planning often neglects the active mobility and environmental experiences of children, especially in the Global South. This leads to city designs that do not cater to the diverse needs of young residents. Factors such as age, gender, socio-economic status, and settlement type significantly influence children’s mobility patterns and their interactions with the environment. Addressing these disparities is crucial for creating inclusive and safe urban spaces for children. Supported by the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) programme, the DigiPACK project bridges this gap by using innovative digital participatory tools to study children’s mobility in India. It will map and compare children’s mobility and environmental experiences in Delhi. The project promises new insights, potentially transforming urban planning for children in India and beyond.
